FAQ
1. What is AFT-800 for?
It is analyzing the stability of autonomic nerve function test and also checking its changes with the HRV load test. In particular, it is very useful test to diagnose the early detection of autonomic nerve disorder. It can be observing the function of vagus nerve which is indicating the parasympathetic nerve by changing of heart rate after deep breathing and changing postures. And as an orthostatic blood pressure test by following the time after the posture change, it is evaluating the sympathetic nerve function.
And also it is possible to measure the autonomic nerve function by performing the Valsalva maneuver. Additionally, it can detect the Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) which is often found in an adult patient with the chronic fatigue or adolescent patient.
2. What are the Measurement Methods?
1) Heart Rate Response to Deep Breathing
2) Orthostatic Blood Pressure Test from Supine to Upright: Use the tilt table
3) Change and rate of Heart Rate by the Valsalva maneuver
4) Check the change in heart rate at 30:15 ratio after standing up.
5) Blood pressure test on the muscle tension: Take the blood pressure using a grip dynamometer.
6) Heart Rate Variability: Measure in a sitting position.
7) Heart Rate Variability in accordance to the Heart Rate Variability (HRV Load Test)
3. What is the HRV Load Test?
An HRV Load test is performed in a stable and upright position to check the degree of change in the autonomic nervous system due to changes in posture through HRV PSD (Power Spectral Density) analysis. It is a test that can accurately diagnose autonomic dysfunction at an early stage. This is mainly useful for diabetic patients.
4. In Which Clinic Can this Equipment be used for?
It is mainly used in endocrinology, neurology, otolaryngology and circulatory medicine.
5. What Patient can be measured?
An autonomic nervous system test must be performed as a basic test before surgery for patients with orthostatic hypotension. Diabetes, high blood pressure, hypoglycemia, cardiovascular disease, autonomic nervous system abnormalities, and diabetes. It also provides prior information on the postoperative prognosis for diabetes patient.
It also applies to patients with chronic fatigue, depression, anxiety, insomnia, headaches, dizziness, and obesity.
6. Have we been completed the clinical research in order to enhance the accuracy of measurement?
In 2006, the study was researched at five university hospitals on the Korea Neuropathy Research Society. The CANRISK research was studied at Cheonbuk National University Hospital, Inha University Hospital, Soonchunhyng University Hospital, Gil Hospital of Gacheon University, and Bucheon Sejong Hospital and the secondary study was done at Cheonbuk National University Hospital, Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital, Yeouido St. Mary’s Hospital, and Diabetic Neuropathy Research Society for two years from 2019 to 2021.
As a result of tests at Sanggye Paik Hospital, Hanyang University Myeongji Hospital, Gil Hospital of Gacheon University, Bucheon Sejong Hospital, and Busan St. Mary’s University Hospital, the usefulness of the current E-wing method and HRV Load Test was shown to be very high and the accuracy of CANRISK with the HRV test was 90% of specificity.
